TransNetwork website redesign

Project overview

I designed and developed the website for TransNetwork, a vital LGBTQIA+ advocacy group in Tampa Bay, with a focus on inclusivity, accessibility, and community engagement. The site was created to highlight the organization's events, news, and resources for the local trans community. The website serves as a hub for advocacy and support, featuring event announcements, resources for LGBTQIA+ folx, and a portal to get involved with the organization.

Research

I conducted a thorough analysis of TransNetwork's target audience and key stakeholders. This included interviews with staff and community members, researching best practices in inclusive design, and reviewing competitor sites. Based on this research, I prioritized accessibility, responsive design, and clear calls to action.

Design strategy

Using Adobe XD, I created wireframes that simplified navigation and highlighted core content—community resources, event details, and news updates. The design was crafted with bold, vibrant colors that reflect the trans pride flag and the organization’s commitment to inclusivity.

Execution

The website was built with WordPress, ensuring easy updates and maintenance. I incorporated SEO best practices, enhanced mobile responsiveness, and ensured a streamlined user experience to improve engagement with event listings and resource pages.

The final product

The redesigned TransNetwork website features a modern, inclusive design that aligns with the organization’s mission of LGBTQIA+ advocacy. The site incorporates user-friendly navigation, responsive layout, and optimized mobile performance to ensure accessibility for all users. It highlights key community resources, event listings, and a support hub that promotes an inclusive space for all individuals.
