Project overview

For my own brand, False Alarm Art, I designed a website to showcase and sell my artwork, including quirky earrings and other artistic creations. The site was built with simplicity and usability in mind, offering a user-friendly experience for customers to browse, purchase, and interact with the brand. The design centers on vibrant colors, bold typography, and creative visuals to match the playful and unique personality of the brand. It also includes a blog section for art-related updates and announcements, keeping the audience engaged and informed.

Research

I began the design process by considering the audience I wanted to attract—those who appreciate quirky, handmade, and bold art. I researched what works in the ecommerce space for unique, custom art brands and gathered feedback from friends and fellow artists to ensure the website would be user-friendly and visually appealing.

Design strategy

The website needed to be a direct reflection of False Alarm Art’s personality: colorful, irreverent, and fun. I focused on keeping the design simple yet bold, allowing my art to take center stage. I used a playful color palette and large, clear visuals to create an easy-to-navigate site that speaks to the unique nature of the products. The user experience was prioritized to make browsing and shopping straightforward and enjoyable.

Throughout the design, I focused on ensuring responsiveness and mobile optimization.
